I wake up in the morning It’s still dark outside I light a candle Fix myself some breakfast, a cup of coffee I look out the window I can only see the white crest of the waves Reflected against the beam, white sheeps I go down the stairs We bite the hand that feeds us, I still don’t understand We bury our head in the sand, it still doesn’t make sense Cold-blooded animals In a golden cage Black sheeps set aside It all seems so far away now It all seems so unreal now Who has stolen the compass? Who has hidden the map? Cold-blooded animals In a golden cage Black sheeps set aside It all seems so far away now It all seems so unreal now Who has stolen the compass? Who has hidden the map?

Don’t ask yourself so many questions You’ve got the recipe, now cook the meal Acting will bring answers to things you hadn’t thought Solving what feigned to be a problem Hold on to your instincts Hold on to your feelings A fruitful pain you won’t regret That’s all it takes, that’s all it takes Your dreams they are your compass And after all calm seas don’t make good sailors After all calm seas are an illusion Don’t be afraid of the swell The rough seas will reveal new skies And in the hollow of the waves you will see more clearly While in the ensuing stillness you will feel more plainly Stay true to yourself, Remain a kid

We’re too afraid to stand out We’re too afraid to talk aloud There was a time when nothing seemed out of reach / everything seemed possible But it feels like things have changed Or maybe we are the ones who did Repeating the cycle over and over We feel the only way is to join the ranks We’ve stopped looking to the horizon White walls, mute people We could be one step closer White walls, mute people We could be moving forward I can still hear the echoes of our talks I can still feel the strength of our hopes What do we want to leave behind? What will we be remembered by? The greatest threat is passiveness The greatest threat is passiveness Don’t stop thinking, don’t stop dreaming

I’ve been thinking that maybe we could try it out I’ve been thinking that maybe we could go for it That maybe it’s already too late for that That most likely I don’t have a fucking clue If only we had the strength to carry on with all our thoughts If only we had the strength to follow on, on all our words Sometimes what you’ve been looking for was standing here the whole time Sometimes what you’ve been looking for was standing here right in front of you Smiling at you with love, listening to your every word Right by your side, the whole time Sometimes what you’ve been looking for is the hardest to see I’ve been thinking that it would be nice to start over, to get a second chance

We may not always agree but at least We may even fight sometimes but at least Life may come in between but at least Love may even get involved but at least We haven’t got much but this we have for sure Yeah this we have for sure A never-ending journey For which no course has been set Something simple but real An outlet for our fears We’d rather go through this together And be happier for it We’d rather be alone together And make the best of it Life may come in between but at least Love may even get involved but at least

Half-closed (Laos, December 2012)

"This picture I am sharing with you reminds me how beautiful simple moments in life are and how easy it is to miss them because our internal eyes are half-closed. I would definitely have missed this precious moment if I had not stepped back from the mainstream. Going back home after work, sunsets, interacting with people/places/instants, these moments are ever so simple and imprinted on us yet extremely powerful. And it feels good to take in the beauty around us and raise our awareness levels. Or in other words, just contemplate. And photography is a great tool to see through these filters, increase your curiosity and connect with the people and environment around you...".

about

Oaraï Typhoon Orléans, France

Created in 2011, the side-project Oaraï Typhoon is the encounter of two alternative music lovers who enjoy unplugging the electric guitars of their punk-rock bands. It’s a spontaneous friendship, an unpretentious journey with no definite destination. Oaraï Typhoon is for the roving minds, for those who are on the lookout for something or just to escape… Under the rain. ... more
